Navin Benny Navin Benny will bring the Thursday evening message from Isaiah 57:14-15: “Holy is His name.” He is a pastor from Trinidad and Tobago, currently serving as pastor of Hope Mennonite Church for the past five and half years. He received a certificate in theology from West Indies Theological College, and has served with Youth Evangelism Service (YES). He also served as youth director for the Mennonite Church of Trinidad and Tobago for ten years and was president of the Early Childhood Care and Education Centre for four years. He is married to Sunita and they have two children: Nathanael (20) and Anna-Leah (13).
Craig Maven Craig Maven will bring the Friday evening message along with Jake Lee on “Kingdom Landfill: Don’t Throw That Away!” Craig is the lead pastor of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church; he pastored two churches in Pennsylvania and one in Indiana before arriving in Harrisonburg. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in Music Education, Westminster Theological Seminary with Masters in Arts and Religion, and Divinity. His Doctor of Ministry dissertation went to the first edit, and then life and ministry got the better of his time. Craig is married to Wendy and they have two adult daughters.
Jake Lee Jake Lee will bring the Friday evening message along with Craig Maven. Jake is a self-described “Christian mutt” and “Gentile Mennonite.” He received his seminary degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Northern California, was originally ordained in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, pastored a United Methodist Church in Central Kentucky, and considers himself theologically Mennonite. Jake is currently serving as a pastor on staff at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. He is married to Julie, and has two children: Jonah (8) and Laura (3).
Dorothy Jean Weaver Dorothy Jean Weaver will lead the Bible study on Friday. She is Professor of New Testament at Eastern Mennonite Seminary, where she has taught since 1984. She leads regular tours to Israel/Palestine through Eastern Mennonite Seminary (“Places, People, & Prayers” and “Jerusalem/Bethlehem Seminar”) and through Virginia Mennonite Missions (“Nazareth/Bethlehem Work Group”). Dorothy Jean is a member of Community Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, Va.
Mark Thiessen Nation Mark Thiessen Nation will lead the Bible study on Saturday morning. He is the author of more than thirty-five articles and the editor or co-editor of seven books. He has been a child protective services social worker, founding director of a Christian peace and justice organization, a pastor, and the director of the London Mennonite Centre, London, England. Since August 2002, he has been at Eastern Mennonite Seminary, Harrisonburg, Va., where he serves as Professor of Theology. Mark is married to Mary and they have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Bethany Tobin Bethany Tobin will speak at the Mennonite Women’s Breakfast. She serves with her husband Steve Horst and children Anjali (5) and Immanuel (1) in Bangkok, Thailand. Having just finished their first term in Thailand, a term focused mainly on language and culture acquisition, Bethany and family are looking forward to returning to Thailand and continuing to discover how God is wanting to grow His kingdom in Bangkok. Bethany and Steve have a vision for discipling young adults and for serving the refugee population in Bangkok.
