Ken Yoder worked in mental health services for 35 years in a variety of roles, primarily in staff development. The last 10 years he was a corporate consultant for the Behavioral Health Division of Universal Health Services, which is the largest non-public provider of mental health services in the United States. In this function, he provided train-the trainer sessions for aggression management, milieu management, performance improvement, and change of organizational culture. In 2015, he was one of the 5 UHS Behavioral Health corporate consultants selected for training in a cutting edge approach in the Assessment and Management of Suicide Risk (ASMR) in inpatient settings, provided national train-the trainer in AMSR, and assisted organizations to integrate this model into inpatient services and discharge planning. At the end of this session, participants should be able to develop practical safety plans with demonstrated effectiveness for a person re-entering the community following hospitalization for serious suicide concerns.
