Scattered Retreat for VMC Leaders and Spouses

 
Life is very stressful on so many levels right now.

When life got stressful for Jesus, he walked away from the crowd and he went to be alone with God. (i.e. Mark 6:30-32; 46)

Come away and rest. Come away and listen.

On March 13 from 9am-3pm, Spiritual Director Jane Hoober Peifer will lead us in a guided prayer meditation, prepping for a time of solitude at the location of your choice. Afternoon small groups and gathering will close the retreat. Opening and closing sessions will be on Zoom.

Tentative Schedule:
9:00 – 10:30 Opening with guided prayer meditation, etc. (Zoom)
10:30 – 1:45 Solitude and silence
1:30 – 2:30 Sharing in small groups (Zoom)
2:30 – 3:00 Closing (Zoom)

About the Presenter

Jane Hoober Peifer moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia after retiring from pastoral ministry at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in September of 2013. She is not new to Virginia Conference, but was ordained here in 1996 when she was a pastor at Community Mennonite Church. Jane continues ministry as a spiritual director, a retreat leader and support for pastors. Jane and Daryl have 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren. She is a member of Shalom Mennonite Congregation.
