At Summer Assembly 2023, the delegate body approved the creation of a Denominational Affiliation Working Group (DAWG) “to examine the legal and practical implications of Virginia Mennonite Conference (VMC) seeking to leave (the delegate body of) MC USA and asks that the Task Force bring their recommendation of decisive action forward for delegate approval by no later than VMC Summer Assembly 2024.”

DAWG is bringing a report with some potential suggested actions to Conference Council (CC) this weekend; pending CC approval, those suggestions will be released before the meeting on the 27th. DAWG will give a further update to the whole delegate body at Winter Delegate Assembly, February 3 2024, at Waynesboro Mennonite Church.
